Film for World Aids Day - 'Buddies'

Sunday 1st December at 4.30pm at The Towner

The Towner is screening a restoration of the first feature film to deal with the AIDS pandemic on World Aids Day.

The film, set in New York tells the story of a friendship between a young AIDS patient and a visiting volunteer. First shown in 1985, the director Arthur J Bresson died in 1987 after receiving an HIV diagnosis.

There will be an introduction to the film by Dr Niall Richardson.
